IMPORTANT NOTICE TO MARINERS
The new stronger safety equipment laws for WA waters are now in place.
- A lifejacket (Level 100 or higher) must be worn by everyone on board vessels less than 4.8 metres.
- You must carry a GPS-enabled EPIRB or wear a GPS-enabled PLB (Personal locator beacon). You will have until 1 September 2028 to upgrade to a GPS enabled EPIRB.

- Please do not discard unserviceable flares in general rubbish collections or land fill.
- Up to 10 flares may still be disposed of at allocated Department of Transport offices, please see list HERE
